Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted in their Tuesday editorials the State of Qatar’s strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s announcement of the establishment of an agency aimed at displacing Palestinians from Gaza, and its approval of the separation of 13 illegal settlement neighborhoods in the West Bank, paving the way for their legalization as colonial settlements.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers called for strong international solidarity to compel the Israeli occupation to comply with the will for peace and end the brutal war on Gaza immediately, stressing that the displacement of Palestinians in any form constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and that the expansion of settlements represents a disregard for international legitimacy resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution 2334.
Meanwhile, on the local front, newspapers highlighted Qatar Chamber’s launch of its new 2025-2030 strategy, which aims to enhance the private sector’s role in implementing the development strategy and create a practical model for sustainable growth to achieve the transition to a competitive, productive, and sustainable economy.
Al-Sharq newspaper noted in its editorial that in addition to the comprehensive genocide and ongoing war being perpetrated against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the Israeli occupation is working to confiscate Palestinian lands, displace Bedouin communities, and expand the scope of settlement in many areas of the West Bank.
In this context, the newspaper pointed out that Qatar condemned the Israeli occupation’s announcement of the establishment of an agency targeting the displacement of Palestinian brothers from the Gaza Strip, and its approval of the separation of 13 illegal settlement neighborhoods in the West Bank, in preparation for their legalization as colonial settlements, stressing in this regard that the displacement of Palestinians in any form constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and that the expansion of settlements represents a disregard for international legitimacy resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution No. 2334.
Al-Sharq called on the international community to show solidarity and assume its responsibilities in confronting Israeli crimes, including genocide, colonial settlements, home demolitions, forced displacement, and attempts to impose Israeli sovereignty over Palestinian territories. These crimes require the imposition of deterrent international sanctions on Israel and support for international efforts to achieve a two-state solution, the paper concluded.
For its part, Al-Raya newspaper asserted that the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank are being subjected to a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing in full view of the entire world and pointed out that the Israeli entity has established an administration concerned with displacing Palestinians from Gaza under the impact of aggression.
The newspaper considered that Israel’s fierce campaigns to eradicate the Palestinian cause, accelerate its annexation of the West Bank, and attempt to impose a long-term occupation of Gaza and expel Palestinians from the Strip, demand strong solidarity from the international community to compel the occupation to comply with the will for peace and end the brutal war on Gaza immediately.
The Palestinian people will not accept these plans and will thwart them with their steadfastness and firmness in their position, just as they previously thwarted all the occupation’s plans aimed at eradicating the Palestinian cause, Al-Raya concluded.
