Qatari Newspapers Condemn Israeli Actions in Syria and Gaza

Doha: In their Wednesday editorials, Qatari newspapers highlighted the State of Qatar’s strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s bombing of the town of Koya, west of Daraa, in the Syrian Arab Republic, which resulted in deaths and injuries, considering it a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law. The newspapers also highlighted Israel’s security cabinet approving a controversial proposal to facilitate Palestinian emigration from Gaza, a step that amounts to ethnic cleansing, emphasizing that this new Israeli measure targets the Palestinian presence and represents a flagrant violation of international law.

According to Qatar News Agency, in its editorial, Al-Raya newspaper stated that the Israeli occupation has begun expanding its actions beyond the occupied Palestinian territories to include neighboring countries, in a move aimed at igniting a regional conflict. The newspaper noted that the Israeli entity exploited the recent situation in Syria to occupy new lands in the Syrian Golan and has been carrying out daily incursions into Syrian territory, attempting to drag the new Syrian authorities into war.

The editorial pointed out Qatar’s strong condemnation of the recent escalation, describing it as a dangerous provocation and a blatant violation of international law. Qatar warned that the ongoing assaults by the occupation on Syria and Lebanon, as well as its continued actions in Gaza, could trigger a cycle of violence in the region. In this context, Qatar called on the international community to exert pressure on the occupation to comply with international legitimacy resolutions.

Al-Raya concluded by emphasizing that the State of Qatar never compromises in its full support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Qatar rejects all Israeli provocations aimed at igniting a regional war, which will be disastrous for everyone.

Al-Sharq newspaper stressed that the State of Qatar condemned the Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Koya, west of Daraa in the Syrian Arab Republic, which resulted in martyrs and wounded. This attack was considered a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international law.

The newspaper pointed out that the State of Qatar had previously warned that the Israeli occupation’s policy of force, including its attempts to occupy Syrian land, would lead the region to more violence and tension. In this context, it stressed the necessity for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to compel the occupation to comply with international legitimacy resolutions.

Al-Sharq concluded by noting that efforts aimed at supporting paths of stability and comprehensive peaceful solutions to achieve the aspirations of the region’s peoples, including ensuring Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, are among the prominent priorities in Qatar’s foreign policy. Qatar’s diplomacy spares no effort in working tirelessly with everyone to shield the region from the dangers of further conflicts and tensions that threaten regional stability and extend to affect international peace and security.
