Doha: Qatari newspapers on Tuesday emphasized the formation of the Steering Committee for Smart Government and Digital Leadership, a move aimed at enhancing the country’s digital government system to deliver efficient and effective services.
According to Qatar News Agency, the editorials discussed the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the severe challenges faced by the population due to restrictions imposed by the Occupation, which include deprivation of essential resources such as food, medicine, and basic services. The newspapers criticized these actions as forms of collective punishment and raised concerns about attempts to forcibly displace the population.
Al-Watan newspaper emphasized Qatar’s efforts towards a knowledge-based economy, driven by digitalization. The editorial highlighted Decision No. (3) of 2025, issued by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, to create the Steering Committee for Smart Government and Digital Leadership. This committee will oversee the implementation of the Digital Government Strategy and ensure collaboration among ministries, government bodies, public institutions, and NGOs on digital government initiatives, promoting integration across these sectors.
