QU Class of 2026 Graduates Achieve Exceptional Success in Securing Acceptance to Medical Residency

Beirut: The College of Medicine at Qatar University (QU) announced a significant achievement as 66 graduates from the Class of 2026 secured placements in medical residency programs across leading healthcare institutions in Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, this milestone reflects the College's academic excellence and its growing reputation in medical education at the regional level.

Qatari nationals represented 50% of the accepted graduates, underscoring QU's commitment to developing highly qualified national talent who will contribute to strengthening the sustainability of the healthcare system. This achievement aligns with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. The residency matching phase marks a critical milestone in the journey of medical students, representing the culmination of years of rigorous academic study and clinical training while shaping each graduate's future specialization and career pathway.

Graduates secured placements at leading healthcare institutions in Qatar, including Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Sidra Medicine, and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC). These institutions provide comprehensive training environments that integrate specialized medical practice with primary healthcare, helping prepare physicians with the academic foundation and clinical expertise needed to deliver healthcare according to the highest professional standards.

Commenting on the achievement, Dean of the College of Medicine at QU Prof. Abdulkarim AlMakadma stated, "This accomplishment reflects the quality of our academic programs and is the result of the collective efforts of our students and faculty. We are confident that our graduates will play a vital role in advancing the healthcare sector in Qatar." Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Halema Al Farsi added, "This success is the outcome of years of dedication and perseverance. We take pride in our graduates, who have demonstrated their competence and readiness, and we look forward to seeing them serve as exemplary representatives of Qatar University across various healthcare institutions."
