Qatar-UAE Joint Supreme Committee Meetings Highlight Bilateral Cooperation

Abu dhabi: Qatari newspapers addressed in their Thursday editorials several topics that emerged on the local and international fronts. Their main focus was the meetings of the seventh session of the Qatar-UAE Joint Supreme Committee, held Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, under the chairmanship of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The newspapers affirmed that these meetings constituted a prominent milestone in the joint work to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two countries in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the two fraternal peoples.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that the seventh session of the Qatar-UAE Joint Supreme Committee, chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and HH Emirati Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, came to form a prominent milestone in the joint work to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two countries in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the two fraternal peoples. Under the support and guidance of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the results of this session reflect the deep-rooted and strong fraternal ties that unite the two brotherly countries, in addition to the unwavering will for close cooperation, the newspaper said. They also express the shared will aimed at strengthening and consolidating the strategic partnership and integration between the two countries.

Al-Sharq noted that in his speech to mark the occasion, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the meeting carries significant importance in advancing relations between the two countries and their peoples across various fields in a manner that serves mutual interests. His Excellency commended the preparatory committee and all working teams for their efforts in organizing the session and developing a roadmap to further strengthen bilateral ties. The most prominent outcome of the meetings of the seventh session of the Qatar-UAE Joint Higher Committee, in addition to the agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed, is the joint determination to work towards achieving practical results that reflect the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries and brotherly peoples, and push relations to broader horizons of cooperation, integration and strategic partnership, Al-Sharq concluded.

In a separate matter, Al-Watan newspaper highlighted Qatar Foundation's Convocation 2026 ceremony, which was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation at Qatar National Convention Centre, where 1,100 graduates from its eight higher education institutions were honored. The newspaper said that for more than three decades, Qatar Foundation has built new generations that carry a culture open to the world with the ability to take the lead to create a positive social impact, through mastering science, culture and knowledge, and translating Qatar Foundation programs and initiatives on education, research, innovation and community development. Since its establishment in 1995, Qatar Foundation has been committed to graduating an entire generation, inspiring minds, and enabling students to reach their goals and achieve their full potential through a higher education system that includes some of the best universities.

Al-Watan explained that the integrated academic system at Qatar Foundation has provided a competitive educational path for thousands of students from around the world, and has enabled them to enroll in diverse courses across its multiple universities. Meanwhile, its growing alumni community, which now includes more than 12,000 graduates, continues to contribute to enriching knowledge and expertise at the local, regional and international levels. Concluding its editorial, Al-Watan said the Qatar Foundation Convocation ceremony not only celebrates academic achievement, but also reflects the strength of a generation that has been able to turn challenges into opportunities through perseverance and awareness.
