Doha: HE Special Envoy of Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability Ambassador Bader bin Omar Al Dafa participated in the regional dialogue on enhancing inter-regional cooperation on sand and dust storms and deepening common understanding. This event was held in Doha and organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Swedish government, and the Arab Center for Climate Change Policies (ACCCP).
According to Qatar News Agency, in a speech, HE the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability highlighted the efforts of the State of Qatar in addressing the challenges posed by sand and dust storms. He emphasized the importance of exchanging knowledge and enhancing joint action to develop sustainable solutions to this environmental phenomenon.
The dialogue discussed the challenges posed by sand and dust storms and their impacts on the environment, public health, and the economy. It also explored ways to enhance regional and international cooperation to address them. In addition, the event reviewed the latest studies and successful practices to address sand and dust storms, with a focus on enhancing early warning mechanisms and adapting to climate change.
