The Syrian President receives his Iranian counterpart and discusses with him bilateral relations and means of developing them

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad received his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, at the People's Palace, who arrived in Damascus today on an official visit that will last for two days.

The two Presidents discussed bilateral relations in various fields and ways to develop them. The talks also dealt with developments in the Middle East region, the reflection of global changes on the region, and uniting efforts to invest these changes for the benefit of the two countries and the peoples of the region.

Al-Assad said during the expanded talks with the Iranian President, according to the Syrian News Agency: “Syrian-Iranian relations are rich in content, rich in experiences and rich in the vision that it formed, and because it was also during difficult periods a stable and constant relationship despite the severe political and security storms that struck the Middle East.”

Fo his part, the Iranian president said: “The Syrian government and people have overcome great difficulties, and today we can say that you have crossed and overcome all these problems and achieved victory despite the threats and sanctions imposed against you.”
