The head of the Security Committee in Basra Provincial Council, "Aqeel Talib Al-Furaiji", announced the implementation of the final security exercise before the start of the World Cup qualifiers match that will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at Basra International Stadium. Al-Furaiji said in a press statement that "the security forces in Basra carried out a first and second security exercise with the participation of all the security agencies concerned with protecting the security of the stadiums, and they were reinforced with a force from the stadium security protection from the capital, Baghdad, after the arrival of a force from the stadium security protection from the Ministry of Interior to the province, indicating that Basra has 300 security personnel from the stadium security forces in addition to the security forces from the police regiments, and other supporting agencies, pointing out that the security plan and the surrounding cordons outside, inside and around the stadium have been determined, and the final security exercise will be carried out before the start of the match." He stressed Basra's readiness in terms of security and sports for the start of the match after the arrival of the Iraqi team, as well as its reception of the members of the delegation, the team and the Omani ambassador, noting that "the atmosphere has become suitable and ready for the referee's whistle to start in the first match that will be held at the Palm Trunk Stadium in the Sports City.
