The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), is participating in the events of the final week of the virtual World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2021, which is being held from 17 to 21 May.
During her participation in the WSIS Forum 2021 Ministerial Round Table meeting yesterday on behalf of HE the Minister of Transport and Communications, Ms. Mashael Ali Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Government Information Technology at the MOTC, said: "The State of Qatar realizes the major role that the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector plays in accelerating the pace of social and economic development, creating a knowledge-based economy and supporting the efforts that are being made to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development. Accordingly, the Qatar Digital Government Strategy 2026 is in harmony with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, fostering its values through the use of ICT for increasing accessibility, improving the quality of education, healthcare and justice, improving the environmental impact for a more sustainable model, and empowering all social segments equally."
Al Hammadi added: "The State of Qatar's investment in the area of digital and innovative technology has contributed to providing innovative and flexible solutions that have enabled the State to take immediate and effective measures to contain the Coronavirus pandemic and lessen its impacts.
