HH The Amir Strengthens Diplomatic Ties and Promotes Good Deeds During Ramadan

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has been actively engaging in diplomatic and religious activities, as detailed in a summary of local news released on Saturday. The Amir sent a congratulatory cable to HE President of the Republic of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, celebrating the anniversary of Namibia’s Independence Day.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has encouraged Muslims to maximize their spiritual devotion during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The Ministry urged believers to participate in extra prayers, night worship, Quran recitation, supplication, seeking forgiveness, charity, and maintaining family ties, following the Prophet’s example.

The Amir also held discussions with HE President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations. In another diplomatic endeavor, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Egypt hosted a Ramadan iftar for orphaned children in Cairo, in collaboration with Qatar Charity, Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity, and Qatar Airways.

HE President of the Republic of Suriname, Chandrikapersad Santokhi, received the credentials of HE Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Shaibani as Qatar’s non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Suriname. Additionally, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani extended congratulations to HE Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri on her appointment as Tunisia’s Prime Minister, expressing hopes for strengthened relations between Qatar and Tunisia.

The Amir also engaged in discussions with HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to explore ways to enhance the fraternal relations between Qatar and Bahrain.
