Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday urged for the reinforcement of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the implementation of subsequent phases of the agreement, brokered collaboratively by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.
According to Qatar News Agency, Fidan criticized Israel for violating the ceasefire agreement by blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and resumed the genocide, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians in recent days, reaffirming Turkiye’s commitment to standing by the Palestinian people.
He further stated that peace, stability, international law, and human values are not on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s agenda, adding that Israel’s goal is to intimidate the Palestinian people and evacuate Palestine.
Separately, Fidan reiterated Turkiye’s support for U.S.-led efforts to establish a ceasefire in Ukraine.
